since joining Olympique de Marseille from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153 last summer, left-back Jeremy Morel has his fair share of detractors. Some criticise him for being the least solid defensive element while others condemn him only because he came from Lorient.
For a week however, many people were concerned for his performances. Against Inter Milan in the Champions League, he was clearly the worst player on the pitch and was not very successful against Stade Brestois either.

However, the Marseille coach has not yielded and has put his faith on Morel. Assistant coach, Guy Stephan is well aware of the criticism Morel is facing and says that Deschamps frequently speaks with Morel and that there is no problem.

Jeremy Morel was carrying an injury during the games against Inter Milan and Brestois and Stephan says that the splint on his thumb was the reason why the defender was not himself.
Morel is physically far from his maximum and Stephan thinks that the player will return to his best soon.
“Sometime we do good and sometimes we do less. But he is a professional and he knows what he has to do to reassure Andre Ayew, who knew him well in Lorient. We know he can bring a lot. In the eyes of the staff of OM, there is no problem with this position.
His partner on the left side agrees to take on some responsibility,” says Stephan.
Certainly, these statements would be a lot motivating for Morel who knows that he needs to complement well with Andre Ayew who plays on the left-flank too.
