She is 16 like myself and has never had a boyfriend let alone been kissed (she's almost 17). It really gets her down in the dumps. We were talking yesterday and she said it's because of the way she looks (she is a really sweet girl and funny, too) but she said why change her looks just to get a boyfriend? - she is over weight and has some abnormalities with her body underneath ehr clothes but she isn't ugly per sae. Oh and you she has the most piercing and stunning eyes ever!!! We girls at school envy her for her eyes....seriously gorgeous. What should I tell her? As her best friend she's come to me but I have little experience myself. HELP?!?!

  1. Help her loose some weight and stuff.

  2. if she's against the idea or looking good just to get a guy you could tell her she could do it for other reasons.

Yes guys will start looking at her

Other girls will envy her more than just her eyes.

She'll feel good about herself and feel more confident about everything she does

About the weight, perhaps suggest loosing weight for herself, so she can be healthier and stronger. Her endurance will go up and she'll feel less physically exausted at the end of the day

  3. Tell her to be herself, don't need a "fake" girl out there, putting herself out there for the guys, any guy she likes she should just start to talk to them and stuff, it'll go from there.

  4. The right guy will come eventually. Its hard at this age to find a guy who will likes you for you instead of looking for something else.

However maybe she'll get lucky and find someone now, or she will find someone when she is a bit older, but will be more mature, and so would the guy that likes her.

Have you told her how stunning you and the other friends think her eyes are?

It may not be a compliment about her 'body' but it is a compliment, and it will make her feel better, even if its just slightly better, that compliment will be appriciated.

An other compliment you can give her again about how sweet and funny she is. Again, not about her body, but it is a compliment.

Its good that you are there for her trying to support her, body image can be a hard thing to deal with.

The fact that she has not had a boyfriend is not a bad thing at all. Not all relationships work out, so its better if she enjoys being a teenager and enjoy life without having to 'commit' to someone so early on.

  5. just tell her that she isn't the only one. I know it seems bad to be 16 with virgin lips :P but it's really not a big deal. high school guys are SO steriotypical... once she graduates the guys will be all over those gorgous curves of hers. Wieght can be lost but fixing a personality is hard and in time the guys will notice that and leave their cheerleader beauty-queen shallow girl friends and they'll be jealous of her. high school is only a small part of life and tho it seems big now, she'll be glad that her 1st kiss wasn't the popular, hott, but totally idiodic guy from the football team.

  6. Tell her that one of these days the right guy will find her and that it has nothing to do with her looks... ( a little lying is OK)
