Guy calls or texts me every day?

Question

but always late at night when he's winding down from work. We talk for hours - and we're in different states. Do you think he likes me, or is just bored?

I'm wondering why he'd waste so much time if it weren't going anywhere.

He either wants to date you, or he's waiting until the wife and kids go to bed ... or, he could just be lonely or bored.

Sounds like he is thinking about you all day and then at night when he gets off he wants to talk to you. He wouldn't bother spending all this time talking to you if he wasn't interested.

it sounds like he likes you but know, since it is far and you two are not committed, he might find someone near him or you might find someone near you. but if it becomes a long distant relationship then you have nothing to worry about. the same thing happened to my sister and one day he just stopped talking to her. they never went out and he too was in a different state but it broke her heart and she still dreads about him. so just remember to guard your heart.

If he didn't like you, he wouldn't be texting you. It's good that you are having long conversations and he calls you when he has time to talk to you without interruption.
