The president of Guyana Cricket Board, Chetram Singh, has congratulated him on his remarkable achievement.
The 36-years-old player has broken the record of his compatriot, former legendary pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Courtney-Andrew-Walsh-c51620, who has played 132 Test matches in his career. Walsh also expressed his happiness over Chanderpaul’s contribution to national cricket.
While talking to media, President of GCB said that it is not easy to perform for a long time. He hailed Chanderpaul’s progress, saying, “It has been a long journey from your home ground, Bourda, where you made your debut in 1994. During that journey, you
have performed in all of the major arenas around the cricketing world, establishing yourself as one of the most consistent and durable batsmen of this era.”
“As a 19-year- old, you took that first step and announced to the world that you have earned a place and were ready for international cricket,” added Singh.
