I asked out my mechanic to coffee or a meal to pay him back for all the free things he's done for me. (Truthfully I like him and was trying to get some time with him) He told me "it wouldn't be necessary". He says a lot of flirtatious things like " I just want to do what you want me to do" and he's made it a point to say "I trust YOU" The last time I was there I caught him staring at me while he was on the phone.

Do you think he's lost interest in me because he knows If he were to approach me I'd accept???

  1. He may be facing a moral dilemma since most professional people are told not to have any kind of relationship with their clients.  The phone thing could be misread too, since he might have been reacting to what he was hearing on the phone and it not have anything to do with you.  He also might think that you are another female trying her "feminine ways" to get a lower price, which you have to admit that others could have done before you.

Try this:  Call the shop a few minutes after closing time (You won't interrupt business that way.).  When he answers and says the shop is closed, tell him good because your car runs fine and doesn't need repairs.  Go on by asking if he could go out, etc.  If he says no, then you will know it isn't going to happen (He may have a girl friend, etc.).  If he says he will go out some time later, make sure you pin down an exact date and time.  You can go on from there on your own.
