Guys, what are the benefits of getting married?

I've been dating the same girl for 5 years, and we are thinking about getting engaged. What are the real benefits here? I want opinions of my fellow men only!

depends completely on your views on marriage...

for me it helped allot with money, were building our credit scores together instead of just me going up were both going up... were building equity and our retirements are starting to take shape...  with the marriage were getting quite a nice tax return and its also helping on taxes at work "check to check"

lastly it gives you a confidence that you have a guaranteed partner and friend that "shouldn't" betray you... with out a ring she could be messing around with other guys and she doesn't have to feel an ounce of guilt, likewise you can do what ever you want as well...
