lame question, but what does it mean when a guy calls you cute? does it mean that he likes you? or that he is attracted to you? or he just sees you as a friend? or that he thinks you're funny? errr, i don't get it

I think that little Olympics girl is the perfect example of cute.  Shaun Johnson or something.  She looks like a little chipmunk.  I want to squeeze her little cheeks.
