Guys Bathing Suits?

Are guys supposed to wear boxers under their bathing suits?

You don't have to wear boxers. Some guys do b/c they think its "cool".

I wear my boxers under my bathing suit. Why? Not because I think its cool! Because when bathing suits don't have lining in them they suction to your body. You can pretty much guess what happens there. Its embarrassing to have your bathing suit skin tight against your body.

Also, I wear boxers under mine because the net in swimming suits is usually very uncomfortable. I either cut the net in it or buy a pair that don't have it and wear boxers.

It's up to you. Most guy bathing suits have some sort of lining in them so you don't have to.

No.  If you are referring to board shorts, what one wears under those is quite varied.  Some wear nothing, others do wear boxers while I prefer to wear a speedo/brief.  The speedo keeps my stuff in place without being heavy and uncomfortable when wet.  This also gives me the option of dropping the boardshorts and wear only the speedo/brief to avoid having the wet board shorts cling to my legs and I can soak up the sun on my upper legs for a nice tan which my wife absolutely loves.
