Guys: How do you like to be built up or complimented?

I have many friends that are guys and I'd really like to keep them as friends, but I'd like to encourage them and build them up. How do you guys like to be encouraged, trusted, or honored by your female friends? What makes you feel valued?

I always liked when a girl friend would encourage me to go talk to a girl and say that they know she'll like me. Basic compliments are always night, and something that I always liked was when a friend (girl or guy) would just take me out for something to eat and the reason being because they enjoy my company and just wanted some time to catch up and hang out and laugh a bit.

if you don't want them as more than just friends.. don't go over the top because too much and they might think you like them..

Its actually a kinda hard question because yes we do like positive feedback but I at least don't like to get  praised too much.  Just once in a while tell me I look nice or maybe that I must have been working out.  A thank  you when I do something nice is nice too.  Its funny, I have no problem complementing people and thanking them but when it comes my way I get all flustered.  Big help, huh?

it depends, like for me a friendly kiss on the cheek or a hug once in a while boosts up my confidence. then again it depends on you and the guys. if you have a boyfriend or the have a girlfriend, i suggest you don't do what i just said. instead you should give them good friendly compliments on how they look or on how smart they are. and if they don't look good and they aren't smart, help them out somehow by giving them advice or something.

well for starters a good compliment would do the trick, and we sure dont mind a few hugs every now and then and telling us how much we mean to you..
