you need a TV card.They sell em at PC stores.

usually go to the tv channel broadcasters website and stream the show from there. Like this.

You can buy something called slingbox (http://www.slingmedia.com/) to stream it accross the internet to your computer whereever there is an internet connection.

Or if you just want to watch some shows on demand for free I reccomend

hulu.com

they have movies and tv shows

other stations such as

discovery.com

nbc.com

and usanetwork.com

have selected epsiodes on them to, but many of those are already on hulu.

I love hulu so have fun.

Also for your iphone or ipod touch you can go to m.nbc.com
