Question:

Guys always say "That team is picked to win" How do they know that? Who does the "picking?"?

My Friend and I are participating in this "NFL Survivor" game at work. We have to pick a team every week that we think will definitely win and cannot pick the same team more than once through the entire season. We are trying to do this without our husbands help though ;) Is there a good website where we can look up odds and who is picked to win each week?

  1. it's just stats directed at previous standards.  For example:  if a team (team A) plays horrible on astroturf, and the other team (team B) plays brilliantly on astroturf, then odds are team A will win....or they're picking team A to win...

but I've grown up as a Bills fan, and all my life have been a Redskins fan, and I can tell you from experience, there's been plenty of crazy games that don't go the way you expect them (ie: last year's super bowl)

  2. no, its football anything can go, but you can go to ESPN.com and their so called experts will pick the games

  3. The oddsmakers in Las Vegas.

  4. Vegas odds makers!!! but they do this through spreads +/- points. Espn.com does a great job and they give you the so-called experts picks for the week (they are only right about 60% of the time) So you may have as much luck just picking the teams out of a hat. LOL

  5. Flip Coins on some games, it actually works.

  6. Each sports related website, or websites that are at least partially dedicated to sports such ESPN, yahoo, CBS, FOX, ect will all have expert picks throughout the week.

Or you can just look in the newspaper and go to sportssection. Normally there will be an odds category with the spreads. When a team has a spead like -15 ( example Patriots vs Chiefs) you can be quite confident they will win.
