Guys and physical exams?

my boyfriend is going for a physical and is verry nervous about it he wants me to go with him and he asked me what they usually do during the physical so i was wondering since im not a guy what they do so i can tell him and how do i tell him i dont really want to go with him? thanks so much for your help! =]

well, if he is old enough, the dr. will stick his finger up his butt to check his prostate, the dr. will check stuff like blood pressure, his heart, lungs, he will have to pee in a cup so they can check his sugar, they check your reflexes, look down his throat, in his ears, and the dr. will check his balls to see if there,s any lumps. all kind of goodies. tell him he don,t have to get nervous, just make sure he gets a dr. that,s easy on him, some of them so called doctors can be pretty rough on a person. but all the stuff i mensioned is important to have done. in matter of fact, i have to get it done in october. tell him for me, good luck. oh, yes 1 more thing i forgot to mension, they will do blood work too, they will draw blood from him to check his cholestrol.

your boyfriend doesn't have anything to worry about. he'll teetee in a cup, have some blood drawn, a nurse will ask him questions. finally he'll see the doctor, the doctor will look into his eyes and ears, check his mouth/throat, and listen to his heart beat. Lastly, the doc will have your boyfriend drop his shorts, the doc will hold your boyfriends  privates and boyfriend will turn his head and cough a few times. the worst part of the exam will be paying for it.

It's a piece of cake.  Really.

The doctor will examine his heart and lungs, check to see that his abdominal sounds are OK; then have your boyfriend remove his underwear and the doctor will check for a hernia, possible testicular cancer, and his prostate by sticking a finger in your boyfriends r****m and feeling for any prostate enlargement or any growths on the prostate; then the doctor will collect a few tubes of blood and a urine sample and — it's over.

There's nothing to it.

More than likely they weigh you, then get your temperature and check your blood pressure. Then it's up to you to tell the doctor why you need an appointment. That simple.

They'll take his temperature, weigh him, blood pressure, pulse, check for hernia (the "turn and cough"), probably do a routine blood test, and check his reflexes.  The doctor may ask him about any ailments, pains, or allergies.
