Okay, so I'm no guy, but I'll answer anyway.

On a guy, I think short, but not buzz cut, dark hair looks good, preferrably with a little greying (I like older men).

On a girl, wavy, natural looking lighter hair at least shoulder length, but preferrably longer looks best.
