Guys get a lot of flak for not being randomly romantic like that but girls can be just as guilty ?

Yeah, that's probably true to some extent.

It's nice if men bring flowers to their partner on a regular basis (more than once a month).  And it's nice if women make their partner his favourite dinner on a regular basis.  Or vice versa, if that applies.  

I think the absolute nicest thing is a kiss when they both get home from work.  Every day.  Followed by compliments about how nice the other person looks.

If men only realised how much women like compliments about their appearance, together with a bunch of flowers, there would be a lot more s*x in the world....

I agree that it's some women and it's some with men. Men are romantic; they just don't go about it like we do.

If a guy has to show some romance he has to get flowers or candy or do something very special for her that show her how much he loves and adores her

If a girl wants to show some romance she turns up in a naughty nurses uniform ;)

i love giving my bf random surprises... we loving giving each other presents and doing nice things for each other... makes us feel more special to eachother... coz we need to treasure every moment were together coz he is gone so long

i completly agree that girls can be just as bad because i know that i am one of the most anti romantic gesture girl that i know.  Im not even that open and randomly romantic with my boyfriend and most of my friends are the same.   Now of days i think the roles are so reversed. men are so quick to tell a girl how they feel because thats what they think we want and girls are saying "god your such a girl" lol

It is an odd thing. Society says girl's are romantic but in every example of romance it is the guy doing all the work.

   Pretty much the difference between romance, society's expectations and reality are this.

Society says the actions a women takes to be romantic(cook favorite meal)= gold.

While male actions of romance such as compliments,flowers,expensive jewelry= silver(even though such actions require more consideration and time)

It is a one sided outdated ideal.
