MOst of the players are now not reluctant to using pink colour...Collingwood and Ian Bell of England are using pink colour in their helmets, Even the manly symonds and Hyden are using pink grips for their bats...Is there any special reason for this like does it mean something or is it colour of the year or what

  4. Pink is the colour of their dreams Lol

  5. Each year in Australia, we observe breast cancer awareness week, & pink ribbons/pens/ other items are sold to raise money to fight the disease. Pink has become the symbolic colour for the fund as the disease mostly only strikes women. The McGrath Foundation is our primary one here.

  6. Yeah found but ...............it's like they like it

  7. well as its been said, its for breast cancer research, with the players sponsors donating money to research for every 6 they hit or run they make (i'm not sure of the specifics), but either way, for any player, no matter from what nation, that using the pink gear to promote the cause, and the people who sponsor them for it, they are all to be congratulated for doing something for such a worthy cause!

EDIT: also lets not forget that the Commonwealth Bank (i think its them) every summer during the ODIs also donates $1000 to cancer research for every 6 thats hit in the ODI games, which is something they should be commended for and also something that i think should happen in every international series, a sponsor should come on board and donate a certain amount of money for every 6 hit, perhaps a set up of (all examples using USD$) $100 for every 4, $500 for every wicket and $1000 for each six. used in Tests as well as ODIs, what do you guys think?

  8. It is, as everyone has said, about promoting the awareness of breast cancer. After Glenn McGrath's wife Jane was diagnosed with the disease him and several other cricketers started using pieces of pink equipment to raise awareness and money for breast cancer causes. Part of the money they raise also goes towards the McGrath Foundation which raises money to fund more breast cancer nurses throughout Australia. Matthew Hayden (just 1 example) gets money from his bat sponsor for every run he scores which goes towards this.

    It's a very worthwhile cause.
