Guys who do ballet?

ok let me say that i am a male ballet dancer, and i am g*y. There are tons of guys that do dance that are not g*y. why do some people assume that all guy dancers are g*y?? People always think the straight guys that I dance w/ are g*y why is that

I think people think it is a female thing to do ballet. I think it is very masculine and you need a lot of strenght to do it. So keep up. Im loving the performances, without man it would be boring. LOL. Anyways, I also have the same Q, with regard to make up artists, fashion designers. Some people seem to think you can not do one with without being something else. Or whatever... I think the whole creative industry is at risk of being judged like that. So sad. As if being creative is only something feminine.

Whats wrong with guys doing ballet?? At my dance school there's lots of guys who do ballet, this guy ... 1. He looks like a yeti, but he can just shave (I wish) 2. he's had LOTS of girlfriends .. I think. Also if your a guy dancer, you have to lift up girls by their hips and legs and stomachs and stuff .. most guys wouldn't really do that if they were g*y .. would they??

It's one of those stereotype things....

  Ballet is considered to be a "feminine" art form. The tights and costumes are feminine.

wow people who say it is a g*y thing or a girly thing are very ignorant. And its a known fact that ballet dancers are g*y..im assuming from that statement this person knows nothing about ballet and nothing about male ballet dancers. People think that ballet is soooo girly. But if they knew ballet they would know that guys have some different moves than female dancers. Also people dont know the strenghth and work that it takes to be a male dancer. ok i found some real known facts online A male dancer lifts over 1-1/2 tons worth of ballerinas during performances. & A three hour ballet performance is roughly equivalent to tow 90 minutes soccer games  back to back or running 18 miles. Now those two facts show that ballet is not girly. and i think that ballet would not be as good if it didnt have male dancers..they are just as important to ballet as female dancers.

Because dancing is a stereotypical "girly sport" or whatever. It's nothing more than that.

Oh & I don't mean guys are girly for dancing, I just mean people assume things because of that stereotype.

Because....its just a stereotype.  I'm not sure why though...I don't think that because...its not right.  I hate it when people make fun of guy dancers. I have a friend that does dance and everyone says he's g*y.  Just ignore it because it's just dumb lol

I don't . I knew one that was married but I guess they think ballet is very feminine so guys that want to be girls get into it making all guys g*y maybe but good luck with your dancing P.S i'm a ballet dancer too=^..^=

Chelsea is basically right and most of the people who've answered this question. Something like dancing is seen as a "girls thing" by most people. Its just stereo types like always. Don't even listen to people when they give you c**p for it, just be happy that you have a talent and that you're good at it ^ ^

okay I need to edit my question lol, how is ballet a girls thing? Did someone come out and officially say "hey ive declared ballet a girls thing and any guy who takes part in it is automatically g*y" NOOO no one did lol so stop saying its a girls thing.

because they were tights for 1 and they are just g*y are you guys who do ballet are just g*y its a known fact thats why god invented it to seperate the men from the g*y guys....
