im 17, and theres this guy at my school who i always notice staring at me- when im walking alone, when im talking to people, and anytime he sees me he stares at me, even when there are dozens more people around. he probably doesnt know i see it because i usually just see it out of my side vision or glance real quick at him. (this has been going on over 1 year- like 2 yrs now) when he stares like this, it makes me feel im the only girl that exists in his eyes.

HOWEVER,

when it is just me and him passing each other outside he competely acts like he doesn't even see me. this has happened about twice where it is just me and him passing each other walking opposite directions and he ignores me.it makes me feel invisible.

so why does he do this??? his mixed signals are bothering me..im shy but i wanna approach him but i dont know because these mixed signals. what does this mean??

also we've never talked before and he has never approached me to talk.

  1. He sounds like a jerk though he might be shy too. Lots of guys do that, either because they don't want to scare you off by seeming too interested right away or they get too nervous around girls. If it's been a year now, it's probably time for you to make the first move. Try saying hi to him.

  2. Typically, girls react badly if you stare up close. The further away you are, the less inappropriate it is to really look at you.

Young men are just as hurt, if not more in fact, as girls are when rejected.

Obviously, he feels you'd reject him.

So try starting a conversation with a compliment. Let him know you're willing to give him a fair chance to talk to you. I'll put him a little bit more at ease.

    Good luck and good hunting.

  3. maybe he's a stalker

  4. He must be nervous and wants you to talk to him

  5. We're (guys) convinced you don't notice us staring from a distance.  Nobody wants to stare at somebody while they're staring back at you.

Say hello to him next time you pass each other in the hall.  Keep doing that until one of you works up enough nerve to actually talk to the other.

  6. Well, I've done it before. He probably likes you; a while back, I saw this girl who was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, but I was too shy to talk to her. So all I did was admire her from a distance, and ignore her when she was near me so she would not know that I like her... for possible social complications.

  7. every answer on here was answered by a jerk except ken and yamster. They are correct.

He is just really shy and / or afraid you won't like him. You need to go up to him first. Believe me he will love it and feel very flattered. He's been wanting to get to know you a long time.

  8. It's like looking at a rainbow after a rainfall. It looks pretty from afar but really nothing up close.
