Gw dishwasher that wont work?

the tab to close/strt dish washer wont budge? does anyone know how to fix it?

1.  Does it still have a warranty?

2.  Go to the store where you bought it and see how the other dishwasher doors work.  See if you have something bent when comparing them to yours.

3.  Get mad, stomp your foot and say, I won't buy any more GE.

Make sure there's not something preventing the door from closing completely.

The latching tang may be bent or the post has moved. Depending on exactly how it is setup as to what you can do.

Too many possibilities.

Bad seal, loose seal, something caught in the seal (check along the bottom front of the tub), bent hinges, bad latch, the catch moved, ...  that is most of them, I think.

If it won't move at all, with the lever type, it often means the door is not closed enough to the prong to "release" the latch so it can move. Often there is a prong that pushes on a release when you close it.

I would guess it is not getting closed enough. Or that prong mounted to the top of the tub that also is the catch for the latch has come loose or pushed back.
