Ok well I am 13. And I have been taking gymnastics for a year.

But I got my period in may. I only had to go to gymnastics once when I had my period. And like it was weird and all my clothes got bloody. But then summer started so gymnastics got over. But now it is starting again (actually today) and I plan on taking gymnastics 4 times a week. But you see I cant wear tampons. It is like totally against like my mom is like no way. I dont want to wear them either. but i dont know because I dont know if one pad can last through and hour and a half of tumbling and trampling. Can someone tell me if there some other way. Or any other advice. Please.

  1. just wear a heavy duty pad with some spanx under your shorts (incase of leaking) and you should be fine and just in case bring a pocketbook with a pad or two

  2. If you wear pads, you'll always be conscious of whether you're leaking or whatever, and although you or your mum don't want you to, but tampons are so much easier for sports like gymnastics. I dance and when I wear tampons, I forget I'm even on a period, and unlike pads when doing sport, they're not uncomfortable whatsoever. To be honest, there's no better option than tampons, but if you really don't want to, then I agree with the above answer that high absorbency pads would definitely be the best type of pad to wear. Why not just give tampons a go, and if you don't like them, then stick with pads? Just a suggestion. good luck x
