Gymnastics Scandal????

Question

From what I understand they finally called the Chinese womens gymnastics team on having underage girls compete is this true did they finally catch them????

As of yet, China has not officially been busted for using under age girls on their gymnastics team. What happened was that the Associated Press found a Chinese website called Xinhua, which I think is actually a company over there. The page that they found stated that the age of one of the girls was actually only 13. The story which stated this was from when they were reporting on the Chinese national competition used to set the team. It also said that at least one other girl was under age, and only 14. The A.P saved a screen shot of the page and reported the story. However, when officials went to the website later, the page had been taken down. There is also a story where one of the news papers in China reported that the first girl was also under age. However, now China claims that she is 16. They even claim that one of the girls is 21. Personally, I don't believe what they are saying, or what the passports say. If they want to know the truth, they need to take some dental x-rays and look at those. They'll tell for certain how old they are. And if they are under age, which I believe them to be, then they need to be stripped of the Gold Medal that they "Won".

I doubt it.  The IOC is afraid of China and losing money too much.  They will just hope it goes away.

The are NOT going to "CATCH" the girls, they deserved the gold and won it fair and square, and don't you know people that are in gymnastics tend to be smaller than they really are, and girls in China don't mature as fast as the girls here in America, they develop when they are close to 17, i have been to China and those girls look way older than 16, some Chinese girls are 18 and look 12. The Japanese girl's team also look smaller than 16, but why are people not talking about THAT!!!!! HUH!!!!  The ignorant people are just jealous, but China did do better than USA and they deserve it. The Olympics is all based on skill and NOT age, so CHINA WON IT FAIR AND SQUARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The USA team sucked that day, they LOST GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Chinese website that say those girls are underage remains questionable, if the government have advance plans to use under age girls it's unlikely that it will leak through Chinese website that are strictly controlled by the same government, so it might be an error in reporting or can be true but we leave that open until further evidences.

Currently those people who believes the girls are underage merely based it on the appearances of the girls, but to the very large population of China, finding such girls is not an impossibility.

Lastly, those who believes they are underage said that this age issue started even before the competition begins, but if that's the case, unless the opposing team think it doesn't really matters or else they should have complain and do something about it before the game started and not after losing the gold,
