I am 14 years old, i quit gymnastics last spring, and ive been having second thoughts about it, ive been in it for 8 years, and was a level 8.

but i have problems on some of the events, such as High barr, parallel bars, and Vault

1. If I go back and specialize, would it be all Right if i were to do pommel horse, rings and floor?

2. Could i go to the olympics... how far could i go by specializing

3. what are the chances of the 2012 olympics

thanks

  1. 1) Yes, you can specialize in any particular event, and there is no rule or statment that says you have to do more than one event.

    2) You could get there, I mean, your Level 8, so you're doing good. You could get gold if you keep trying, just get to state, then nationals, and qualify in the TOP 8, and you get an invite to the OLYMPIC TRIALS for 2012.

    3) In your case, it could easily be 100% if you continue, adn try your best. Hope to see you there!

  2. You have absolutely no chance for 2012 or even 2016. You have to win major national and international competitions to even be considered in making the team.
