So... here they are:

1. Does a parent/gaurdian have to be present if you are 13 on your first gyno visit. (I really don't want anybody else in there but me and the doc.)

2. I wanna go 'cause I've been messed with... sexually... and do I tell the doctor that? And what will they do if I do? Do they report it? >.> I wouldn't think so... but I don't know. Oh...and would that make me sexually active? :\ It hasn't happend in the last two years.

3. What do they do on the first exam?

4. (random) (: Do you still get your breast checked out if they are like 34A. I'm just starting :) I was wondering if there was like a point that they have to be so big to be checked out, lol.

5. Do you feel more comfertable with a guy or a girl gyno?...

6. I've skipped my period for like I don't know... 8 months now? So like will I be put on birth control to regulate it, or is that like... normal...

Thanks :)

  1. You can see just the doctor and have your parent wait in the waiting room (as long as it's ok with your parent).

If you choose a male doctor, he will require a nurse or assistant to stand in the room while he is examining you. This person is a woman and she just stands off to the side. It's for both your and the doctor's protection that she is in the room during the exam. She won't be involved in any way except to keep an eye that nothing inappropriate happens and to hand the doctor whatever he might need (gloves, etc.). You can talk with the doctor before she comes in (she's usually only called in for the actual exam, then leaves, she doesn't need to be in the room during any discussion you might have with the doctor).

Whether you wish a male or female doctor is just a matter of your personal preference. I've had both and their gender didn't really matter as much as their personality/bedside manner mattered.

Yes, you tell the doctor about your history. I think it should remain confidential. You don't need to name names. Just tell the doctor what happened and when and if it's definitely done happening now or not. To properly take care of your medical needs, the doctor needs to know your history.

I doubt you'd need to be put on the pill for irregular periods at your age. Irregular periods are probably normal at your age. But if you are having or might have s*x, then you should talk to the doctor about the pill and other options you have to prevent pregnancy and diseases.

The doctor should explain everything to you before anything happens with your exam. If the doctor doesn't start out with an explanation of what to expect, then speak up and ask. I don't really know if a first time exam is different than a later one (don't remember). Just pick a doctor who talks to you and lets you know what to expect, then you'll feel comfortable. The best way to do that (pick a caring doctor) is to get a recommendation from your mom, sister, friend, etc. who has already seen the doctor and knows what the doctor's bedside manner is like.

  2. 1.  Yes,    2. Let him/her know.  3. They examine you, they may or may not order test.      4.  Possibile, but it will just be a brief exam.....probably not  though           5  Personal choice.   some girls prefer other girls.  some prefer men.............competence should be more of a concern that gender!     6.  Possibily normal.   periods are very unpredictable,        finally, Good luck!!

  3. .1 yes, you are a minor.  2.you will have to tell the doctor before he exams you because he or she will ask questions. It depends on what extent you were messed with and by whom?  I'm sure that will depend upon your parents unless it was an act of a parent. Being molested as a child does not make you sexually active unless you continue to have s*x on a regular basis. A lot depends if there was penetration to break your maidenhead to the v****a. 3.That depends on what they are checking for, sweetheart. 4. Breast checks with a machine starts when you are much older. They may teach you to do self breast exams for lumps or knots. 5. Someone of your age would probably feel more comfortable with a lady. 6. That is a choice that you and you Dr. would have to decide.
