  1. You have two options.

Discuss this with your husband, and tell him what he and his friend did was illegal, and if caught out would end up in jail.

You could report this to the H.R. and tell them what happened, and that you want to file your own tax returns and that you did not sign nor give anyone authority to sign.

They will then take the appropriate action.

I know it looks like a serious step, but look at it this way. You contacted the H.R. to file your taxes. You were told that you and your husband had already done them.

Now, if they are on the ball, they will flag up your case and look into this. You may be prosecuted if they check into this, and that you are aware of what has happened.

It's your choice. It's your husbands mistake, should you take the blame, and end up having a criminal record.

    Blessing

  2. Contact the IRS and talk to them.

  3. File your return but mail it in, unless you are OK with the joint return as filed, in which case if your income was included, you don't have to do anything.

It was illegal though for someone else to sign your name, whether it was your husband or the Block person.
