I have got H1B letter and applied for VISA but not from my home country. Is there any chance of visa rejection? Consulate returned my passport and will give me call back within next 4 weeks because process takes 2-4 weeks.

  1. if you applied from a different country than yours, you must be a resident within that country in order to apply for a H1B visa  for the US,

if you are a tourist in that country? you will not be able to do so.

now about rejection? i cannot tell you that.it is up to the immigration .

  2. There's never any absolute guarantee that you'll get a visa, in your home country or elsewhere. However, assuming you're qualified for the visa and the information in the petition is correct, you shouldn't have any particular problem. H1bs are not tourist visas. You don't have to prove strong social and economic ties and that you will return to your country, since you will be working in the US if the visa is apporved, and you may even get a green card as a result of the visa.
