Just read on the Canadian consulate the requirements for visa stamping. It does not look "very friendly" and in some part it said that you will have to leave Canada immediately if visa is denied to your home country. Did I misunderstood something? How other folks on H1B travel abroad and get their visas stamped in the US consulate in Canada. Is it so risky or I am misunderstanding something?

Thanks in advance!

  1. That is absolutely correct.  People who seek visa stamping in Canada as a convenience do so at their own risk.  If it is important enough for someone, it should be done correctly with no shortcuts.  More and more H1B (and L) visa applications are being denied at the embassies, even after the petitions have been approved by USCIS due to rampant fraud and abuses of the system.
