i am in US for last 2 years on H1B visa along with my wife who is on H4. My current term will expire in one year. I want to apply for Green Card.

Should i wait for my H1B visa to be extended for one more term next year and then apply for green card?

If i apply for green card, is there a possibility that my H1 extenstion may be refused? What may be the other risks.

What is the typical cost per person to apply for green card.

Will the status of my spouse get changed automatically if i get the green card.

  1. Tell your company that you will demand the prevailing wage that an American would get for doing your job if they do not sponsor your green card. That should get them to move on it,

  2. You can't apply for a green card.  You're here on a non-immigrant visa.  If your company wants to apply for you and your wife they can do so by filing an I-140 with USCIS.  There's nothing that says they have to do it.
