H1B visa to J2 visa?

Question

Hi, I am currently employed on an H1B visa, but I want to get off work to take care of my family. My wife is on J1, so I was wondering if it is possible to go from H1B to J2. I guess this is not usual, but I guess is possible. Does anyone knows? And do you know if I can file the change remaining in the US or if I need to go outside the US to get a new visa in the consulate? Thanks.

Hi I am also looking forward to change my visa from L1B to J2. My husband is working on J1. Please let me know whether I can stay in US after applying for J2 visa? Can I stay in US or do I need to get back to India till I get my J2 Visa? Also let me know how much time it takes for J2 Processing?

Can you still be on H-1B status while applying to J2 ? Within change process, can you still work? How much time does it take for you to change your visa from H-1B to J-2? Does anyone know? Thanks.
