  1. This is a simple neutralization reaction between an acid and a base, which of course yields salt and water. We also know that all neutralization reaction are very basically metathesis, aka. double displacement reaction where the bonding atoms merely exchange partners

    So.

       acid            +   base      yields       salt                + water

    2H3PO4(aq) + 3Ba(OH)2(aq)   =    Ba3(PO4)2 (s) + 6H20(l)

  2. 2H3PO4 + 3Ba(OH)2 -> Ba3(PO4)2 + 6H2O

    Phosphoric is a triprotic acid and barium has a valence state of 2+. Start with the known formulas, then know the products (what happens in the reaction). Then balance, going back and forth until you get the lowest whole number for each reactant.

  3. First, barium hydroxide has the formula Ba(OH)2.

    2H3PO4 + 3Ba(OH)2 ---->  Ba3(PO4)2 + 6H2O
