Hi, I am trying to find someone who sells Organic Armenian Honey - HAA. I was given a bottle of this honey and can not find it anywhere online or in NYC. I was wondering if someone out in California near little Armenia knows of a grocery store that sells HAA - Organic Armenian Honey.

  1. Hi, I'm Armenian... :)  i don't know exactly what you're talking about, but i'll keep my eye out for it.  I think the guy above me thought u were asking about "american" honey.  I'm sure it'd be here somewhere

  2. Here is your answer. http://www.hetq.am/eng/economy/7454/

The gift that you received was probably hand imported (ie, brought over in someone's suitcase) or was briefly available due to export attempts a few years ago by Armenian apiculturists. They discovered that it is not worthwhile to export honey as the retail price in Armenia is very high, and foreign countries are used to paying much  less.

"There is almost no export of honey in Armenia, or the volumes are negligible.  This year, honey has been exported only to Dubai, and only 80 kilograms at that.  Local apiculturists produce 1,500-2,000 tons of honey a year, which is enough for the domestic market.  Imports do not exceed two percent of the domestic demand.  In fact, imports of honey have dropped by 20-30 percent over the past few years."
