Okay so my parents live 45 minutes away from my apartment and I am moving out. So I brought my hamster home for my younger brother to care for during this process.

I do not have air conditioning in my car and Its VERY hot where we live. Please help. I got here and my hamster is very still and way too calm. Usually she would sniff around and run around for about 15 minutes after cleaning her cage but now she's just laying there, sprawled out.

I know it was dangerous, but I want to save her now. HELP! Since it is Sunday there are no vets or anything open.

  1. buy a new one and replace.  get a fan if you insist on saving rodents

  2. give it cold water that should help.      put a fan in front of the cage.              good luck

  3. Jeez! Nobody is answering. Well I guess I'll help you.

It's probably tired...Worn out. If not I would advise you to turn on a fan, Watch it often, Feed it like you normally do. If you REALLY know that it's dying then I don't have anything else to say but to say your last words to it. But yeah like I said the fain should work to cool it off. But it also may be tired. or hungy. But watch it alot. email if you need more help

  4. BUY A NEW HAMSTER!! ASAP!!

  5. Dropping water into his mouth is fine but do not soak him. If you soak him it will more then cool him it will give him hypothermia. Hamsters are not as hardy as rats you need to be extremely careful, they are never to get wet. Bring him to the coolest place in your house (usually the basement) if you truly believe he is hot which very well might be the case. If his breathing is labored in anyway it is even more important you bring him to the vet.
