  1. no if there together they will fight and when you take them out they will bite you. you have to get another cage if you get another one I have one hamster but I will never put two in the same cage hope this helps

  2. yeah go for, just dont put males with males, i did the same thing with my robos even though everyone said not to, they are fine, at first they might hiss at eachother or maybe punch eachother and get on eachother in a fighting manner but that usually stops the first day, only take them out if they r biting eachother and causing wounds

  3. No. I was told by my pet shop and my vet never to put hamsters together because they become territorial and one could end up killing the other one

I would buy a new cage 2 if you really want another hamster

    Hope this helps

  4. No, you shouldn't.

Hamsters are territorial rodents.  They prefer to live out solitary lives.  For people, this can be hard to understand or accept because 1) most of us couldn't imagine living alone as humans and 2) hamsters are so adorable, we'd love to keep a colony of the fur-balls!

But make sure you think about your pet's needs first.

Hamsters are kept together in stores with their siblings.  They are still immature, so you don't see them battling it out in their cages.  But as they mature, they seem to develop qualms with their kind and rarely appreciate a buddy in their house.

I had two Chinese dwarf sisters that I kept together.  As they got older, they began to fight each other and we had to separate them.  It isn't pretty, either.  They really tried to hurt one another, and both left with chunks of fur torn out and bloody gashes.  This type (Chinese dwarf) are especially aggressive, but I think this proves my point that they don't like company.  Even family!

Another reason you wouldn't want to keep two together is because you might not know their sexes.  Hamster babies might not be for you!

I would suggest keeping one hamster.  If you want more than one, purchase another cage for your second little guy.

  5. Well, hamsters are very, very territorial. All my hamsters have had problems with each other when put together (even when they were related! sister killed sister. son killed dad. two hamsters in one cage, not a good idea). If you really want to have two hammies, remember: introduce a old hamster to a young hamster, but when you introduce two hamsters that are about the same age, they will fight. And Never Ever get a male hammy if you have a female hammy. You would soon have many, many, baby hammies (Last time I put a male with a female, we got 10 more ham-hams)

So, if you do plan to get another hamster, be cautious. Very, very cautious. Otherwise, play safe and don't get another hamster

  6. Don't listen to the people saying "No." Since you have a dwarf hamster, it is actually recommended you put more in a cage. Syrian hamsters are the ones that should be kept alone. For proof, please click on my link below and scroll down to "General Care."

  7. no. its not a good idea to put hamsters together. they are solitary animals and like being in their own cage. theyll fight if they are put together but i heard that if they're family, then they will get along better but im not sure about that.

my friend and her sister put their hamsters in the same cage and one of them injured the others ear.
