HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY! Need Advice??????

my daughter and my nephew's birthday parties are going to be on the same day because they are only 13 days apart. the theme of the part is winnie the pooh, my daughter has a pooh costume and my nephew has a tigger costume (cute, cute) i am not completely sure what i should get them. what is an age appropriate gift for a one year old girl/boy that is still wallet friendly? the department store in my area would be walmart so i hope i can find something. any suggestions anybody?

Books, they're educational, kids love them and they are reasonably priced!

Their very first art supplies.  You can get some of those new markers for infants, they are like balls they are called TaDoodles First Markers, Playdough, washable crayons , coloring books, pads of paper and stickers.  Plus you can wrap it all separatly, so it seems as if they have a lot to open.

Wagons or those little ride on toys that they push with their feet. Ones also like climbers.

There's nothing like books although they can get expensive.  I also like the Fisher Price farm set.

ball pits are really good! they will have alot of fun and they will not want to take a nap or eat lunch bc they are having so much fun!

For my sons first birthday our friends got him those jumbo legos.  He loves them.  He isn't good on the stacking yet but he likes to pull one or two out of the bag and just walk through the house with it.  As far as the little girl, it shouldn't be hard to find something. Girls tend to be the easiest to shop for.  Another thing that my son got though was bath toys.  He loves bath time, and he loves his Elmo Sub boat, and Ernie Boat.

if you are going to walmart..they have a great selection of "bright starts" and they arent more than the rent payment!! my grand-daughter loves the stuff, she is 11 mos.

A simple "Little People" set - they're colourful, interesting, easy to clean, and last forever.  They can also be educational.  They will get played with a lot.
