HARD time finding niche at COLLEGE what to do?

ive been at college for about five days im a freshman and im finding it really hard to meet people and the few that i meet i dont see myself being like GREAT friends with them. i guess im homesick for my friends back home but how long does it usually take to find "good" friends??

I'll bet everyone is thinking the same thing.  I would give it a month--you came from a very well-known, comfortable situation to a large and strange new situation.  Don't worry--it WILL get better.  Just smile and say hi to people in your class, and check with your student activities for some ideas of clubs to join.  YOu will be more likely to find your friends there.  Also, ask people casually if they want to catch lunch (such as after a morning class) and get to just know people--not everyone has to be a good friend.  Good luck!
