I JUST used Capstar today on all of my animals.  I took in a dog who had a flea infestation, which spread to my cats.  I never saw any fleas jumping or falling off of them, but they were all going crazy scratching and biting themselves 30 minutes after I administered the pill.

Unless you have an urgent issue and can wait for the pills to be shipped to you, you do not need to get it from your vet.  You can get it from all different sorts of pet supply dealers.  There are even commercials on TV advertising free shipping when you buy a certain dollar amount or a certain product.

Make sure that you follow the pill with flea prevention (i.e. Revolution, Frontline, etc). Your entire house will need to be sprayed, bedding, clothing washed, thorough cleaning, etc--  The Capstar pill is just the first step and is not a preventative.  If you have fleas living in your house, you will get re-infested again.

We use CAPSTAR all the time. It works so fast you can actually start to see the fleas fall right off your kitty.

You should be able to buy it from your local veterinarian as it is available only through vets. If you cannot find it at your vet, call Novartis, the manufacturer, and they will help you locate a vet in your area who sells it. (1-800-332-2761)
