  1. Firms can "attempt" to clear it.  There are no guarantees.  Some things are better left to the pros though.  I would recommend 2 things: 1) a very low cost (possibly free) credit repair program to try to have the negative items removed. 2) I would add a tradeline program to boost your score quickly (60 days or quite possibly less). A friend in California used this and got a 120 point bump from 560 to 680. There has been a lot of disinformation by Experian saying these authorized user programs do not work. Check out the source news link for an article from July 30th that has them admitting it still exists. My friend in California went through www.totaldebtsolutionsllc.com and filled out their free evaluation form to get the ball rolling. Good luck.

  2. It's legal but it works as much as you can make it work yourself. The key to cleaning up your credit is TIME...

  3. I just started to clean up my credit. I disputed all of the negatives on my report to all 3 bureaus The total time for validations up to 30 days. Well let me tell you. I started last week saturday, i have a total of 12 negatives on my report and within a i have had 3 negatives remove from my report by all three bureaus. The other 9 are stilling pending results. It takes time and patients, but don't gave up. Save your money and do it your self. And if for any reason it comes back verified, then disputes it again , but for another reason, such as uunauthorizedcharges, never late on payment, not my aaccoun, tetc. In order to dispute a account that has been disputed again u must dispute with a new reason to open another investigation. So, dispute, dispute, until you wear them out. My friend didi it with a score of 550 and withing 60 days she had a 700. So, i am doing it my self to increase my scores. So try it out and good luck.

  4. nope and i do not intend to in the future!!!

  5. No firm can remove accurate negative info from your credit files....so don't waste your time and money paying anyone to do this....What these firms basically do is to request validation for each negative item on your credit file and hope that the credit bureaus cannot validate the item, so they'd have to remove it per the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This trick "may" help to remove negatives from your credit files. You don't have to pay anyone to do this. You can do this yourself.

Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act you have the right to request written validation of negative entries on your credit files. Per this law they must validate the item(s) within 30 days or remove them from your credit file. Mail a letter via certified mail with return receipt to all three credit bureaus (Equifax, TransUnion & Experian). Include a photocopy of your driver's license and social security card...If you don't include these, they may write back requesting them, which would slow the process down by several weeks. For each negative item, write a separate letter and simply include the phrase:

Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I am requesting written validation of this item.

Do this one at a time for each negative entry....DO NOT request validation for all items at one time.

There is NO guarantee that this will work....It may give some decent results. The worst that can happen is that all negative items come back verified.

  6. I have and it worked.

Its nothing you cant do yourself.

    Your first step is.

    Go to www.annualcreditreport.com

You are entitled to a free credit report annually from each of the three credit bureaus. No credit card is needed. You can dispute negative information on there online. Good Luck.
