  1. There's LOTS you can do!

First, being you're having it with a pool, you can set up some lounge chairs and waterproof cushions around the pool so when you and your friends aren't swimming, the pool becomes a lounge area.

Get some beach balls and scatter them in the pool, people will play around with them!

For food, do what YOU like have your favorite foods.  You can do a bbq being it's a pool party, but do whatever YOUR favorite food is.  If it's burgers and hot dogs, do that, if it's pizza, do that, if it's tacos, do a taco bar, etc.  Have snacks, chips, etc.  Lemonade, iced tea, soda, and water.

You can get an inflatable boat and fill it with ice and make it your cooler on the pool.  Now, you can put it in the pool and have it float in the pool, BUT warn your friends that the tops of the drinks HAVE to go back INTO the boat, they WILL break the filter if they're thrown into the pool!  Make sure they're put back into the boat or in the trash!

You can do some games like setting up a volleyball net and playing volleyball and badmitten.

You can do relay races with potato sack races and three legged races.

You can also set up an ice cream bar.  Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and marachino cherries and have everyone make their own sundaes.  You can get the tall plastic sundae glasses at the dollar store or the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store.

For inviting your friends, these are your friends!  Have fun with it! You can write the invites on a beach ball and make them blow up the ball to read it, but to do that you'd have to hand deliever them.  You could do flip flops, those you CAN mail!  Write the info one one flip flop and mail it to the person.  Buy 3 pairs at the dollar store and send one shoe to each girl.

You can also make some invites, but being the party's in a few weeks and during summer it's a busy time, I would call the girls you're inviting and just invite them over the phone.  If you want to send something more formal, do it AFTER you call them.  This way they already know about it and can plan for it after you talk to them, they're not waiting for something to come in the mail. If you wait to mail something, by the time you get the invites, or make them and then mail them, another week has gone by.  This way, you can call them in another day or two, let them know about the party and when you need to know from them if they're coming and then if want to send something as an invite, you can send something more formal, but at least they've been given a heads up!

I hope some of these ideas help and that you and your friends have a great party!

  2. Just call each one up on the phone to invite.  Tell them your mother's phone number if their mom wants to call yours.  Go into mapquest to be sure directions to your house look correct based on your street address so they can find your house.  Be sure to tell them you have a pool, so bring their swim suit, but no towel if you have plenty. Also, if they should bring their own sleeping bag or not.

What to do - with a pool, you should be busy for at least 2-3 hours just paddling in the pool talking about anything.  After that - have some movies to watch in your room.

Food - with 6 people total, maybe two pizzas.  Deliver if you can, or everybody get in the kitchen and heat up a frozen one if you're used to doing that.  Maybe get some ice cream and everyone make their own sundaes with different ingredients.  Or, smoothies.  Look up smoothie recipes and make in your blender. Also have some chips and dips and some fruit like apples, bananas, grapes.  I like popcorn, too.

Have something planned for breakfast, like be sure to have fresh milk and several kinds of cereal and fruit for on top.  Or, if you can, ask mom to go pick up a couple dozen donuts.

Have fun.  Don't do any "games" - you should be able to have fun just hanging out.
