i bought this laptop last year in august. its an HCL laptop, it sucks. please never ever buy an hcl laptop. i had to buy this because my dad kew this dealer in our city and he was ready to listen to him more than me. well it cost around 45k then. i just gave them the config i wanted and they delivered this c**p to me in 4 days. it started with the speakers, the front left speaker blew off on the 3rd day. i sent it to the repair office(which they claim to be there in every city of the country, which is so not true) came back in another 3 days and it blew off again the same evening. well i had to go to the hostel(another country) the next day so the dealer said that i could get it repaired when i come home after 2 months. so that's what i did. it blew yet again when i went back. to add to it the dvd drive became weak(still manageable). so in december i got it repaired once again. yes it did happen again. they said the drive was ok. i took it back and this time the lcd screen had developed a blue line which was so annoying and would not go (along with the speakers again). this time i came home in july end and gave it to them for repair along with the vd problem. they changed the lcd panel(i guess they put an old one on it which has got so many permanent scrathes), the dvd drive and the speaker. the 1 year warranty finished the next day i got it back. now i'm here in the hostel. the first day i reached here the dvd drive suddenly stopped reading any dvd. it only reads cds. i checked on every site and found out it was a weak laser problem(guess an old drive too) but annoyingly the speaker is still ok(what for i guess) and yesterday all of a sudden all my usb ports stopped working. i keep getting this stupid message that says usb device not recognized. what should i do?? nobody would even buy it from me. only thing i can do on this now is internet. help help. should i buy a new one?? which one in the same range40-45k??

  1. Have you checked out the range from Dell

    >> would certainly make for a good starting point, besides a price comparative

    http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products...

if you can spell out your application / usage, what screen size you are looking at & other such details, we can sure try narrowing down

it will be easier for you because you are somebit familiar with laptops
