HD DVD Movie on Blu Ray Player?

Question

Can I play an HD DVD Movie on my Blu Ray? If so, is it HD quality? If not, should I just buy the regular movie. I use my PS3 Blu Ray for movies but I got the HD Transformers movie for Christmas. I don't want to open it up and play it if it won't look good or play.

It should play alright, it will still show in HD as well because blu ray is a hi def player.

No you can not play most of the HDDVD discs on a blue ray player. There are some hybrid HD DVD discs that have HD DVD and DVD versions of the same movie on a single disc. You can play such discs but you'll get no extra benefit since they'll play like normal DVD's.

Don't open your Transformers DVD. It's a pure HD disc (not a hybrid).

No, you cant watch a hd dvd disk on a blu ray player. you will need a hd dvd player. As for hd transformers, it is only available on hd dvd so it does you no good to have.
