Are hddvd players cheap enough to rival new dvd players now that they aren't being made anymore?

Would it be worth it to buy a new hddvd player to replace a broken dvd player?

  1. You may not find it really useful, but if the model you find plays DVDs, that's it. Plus, as BluRay has won the format "war", HD DVD movies are really cheap.

  2. Unless you don't mind owning something that isn't going to be catered for any more don't bother, just try to get rid of your HD DVDs and either pick up a blu ray player (or PS3) or wait for the price to go down a bit first. No new films are going to be put on HD DVD any more and films that are already on HD DVD won't continue to be produced so there's little point in hanging on to the relic unless you plan on keeping it for years until it becomes a collector's item (if it does).

  3. NOOO! Hd DVD is stopping its manufacturing, Blue ray is where all the companies are signing to.
