  1. HD DVD is allready obselete due to Blu-Ray, HD is stopping contracts with many companys and will soon be pointless....

    So long HD...

'Warner Bros. announced they would stop supporting HD DVD by June 2008, and the company would release software only on Blu-ray Disc.' 'Wal-Mart announced that they would be supporting only Blu-ray by June 2008. On February 19, 2008, Toshiba announced their decision to discontinue development and marketing of the HD DVD format. '

  2. Toshiba has already stopped producing HD-DVD players the the whole movie industry has gone Blu-Ray. The HD-DVD format is dead. Blu-Ray won the format war back in Februrary. All major hollywood studios ( Universal, Parmount, Warner Bros., etc....) now support Blu-Ray.

Edit: You might still see HD-DVD's in stores, but HD-DVD as a format is dead, and yes, eventually you will never see HD-DVD in stores again because Blu-Ray is now the HD format.

  3. by the end of april most of the box store (best buy) will have a blow out sale of what they have left and just sale blu-ray. I would bet that prices of blu-ray wont go down quiet as fast this year as last year, they dont have any competition.

  4. Unfortunately the technology was made obsolete several weeks ago when the hd-dvd support group, headed by toshiba,  conceded the high def war to the competing format blu-ray to replace dvds eventually.  Stores have been having extreme clearance sales on players to try and get rid of them and the movies.  Obviously if you're considering buying one, it may not be such a great idea as it'll end up collecting dust.
