OK, now that the format dispute seems to be over, and Blu Ray came out on top, have the studios that backed HD started releasing their movies in Blu Ray?

  1. Yes, V For Vendetta is a good example. I was previously available only on HD DVD and now has been released on Blu-Ray.

Check www.blu-ray.com for release dates on upcoming Blu-Ray releases. Batman Begins is set to be released July 8th.

  2. The short answer is yes

The long answer, being that HD DVD lost, they stopped making/selling HD DVD players (at least the HD DVD add-on for the Xbox 360 has been discontinued), also, since there are no players to play HD DVD videos anymore, HD DVD discs are worthless (unless you have an HD DVD player, and not many do), so now every movie that used to be HD DVD only was converted to Blu-Ray, and the HD DVD version was discontinued

I went to my local Best Buy reciently and looked in the Blu-Ray/HD DVD isle, all the HD DVD videos were gone, and the shelf that did have HD DVD movies were filled with Blu-Ray movies

  3. yes almost all the movies that were on HD-DVD have release dates for Blue-ray just check best buy.com or any of the big sites they are all coming out here pretty quick.
