We are thinking of getting an HD Receiver to go w/our HD television. Do you have one, and are you happy with it? Any problems?

  1. O, I did. They take some time to find out everything, but In time, you will get the common jist of it. It would look great with it!!! Atleast, In my opinion.....

P.S. We returned ours. Turned out we didn't need it, and it was complicated. But IF iT HELPS, a new Blu-ray/DVR thing just came out; a mixture! You could try that....I might.....

    Once Again,

    Good luck!

  2. Directv with HD Tivo...how did we ever live without it?!  We love it.  What we like about Directv is that you can record 2 programs at the same time and watch a previously recorded program all at the same time, or you can record 1 show and watch another live show at the same time.  Have absolutely no complaints.  PS dont believe what Comcast says about satellite going out all the time...not true.  Neighbor has Comcast and their service doesnt compare.

  3. I currently have Time Warner Cable.

Its worth it to spring for that HD box. If you spent so much for the tv. The HDDVR is wonderful. Tivo costs more than you would spend with your provider who;'s works just as well.

The one thing that Tivo has thats nice if u have sat. is you can order on demand meaning u can order and pause the movie from amazon rangeing from $.99 to 3.99

  4. i Have Comcast  get Comcast ist better

  5. No- don't do it.  Tell J. to be happy with what he has and stop wanting the newest and coolest toy.  Birthday presents shouldn't cost hundreds of dollars. He needs to stop being so spoiled!  He's being like G.

  6. I have DirecTV HD w/DVR.  I still get a lot of 480 or standard digital channels, but it has to be really good before I'll watch it because I can't stand looking at 480.  That's just me - to me it's definitely worth the extra cost, but only you can decide if it's worth it for you.  Is it better? Yes - definitely, a lot.  I'm extremely happy with it and will never go back.  You have more channels in HD (depends on provider), but not all of them though.

You didn't say how big your screen is - the larger the screen the bigger the difference is between standard or HD resolution.
