so im probably going to get a new TV this weekend, hopefully an HD TV. thing is I don't have cable, don't plan on getting it and just watching regular broadcast channels.

Do I just hook my rabbit ear antennas up to the antenna jack (im assuming there is on on the HD TV), is that how the HD tv works for those who don't have cable, just continue to use the rabbit ears ?

  1. yes as long as your new tv has a built in HD tuner rabbit ears will work fine.  you will get any local channels that produce the HD signal.

  2. the type of ant. that you ll need for that depends on how close your house is to the stations..go to antennaweb.org and enter your zip. it will show a map of where the stations are and recommend what type you may need..omni directional or not if you live in a big city and are close to the stations you be just fine with basic rabbit ears

  3. yes, continue to use them like if the tv was the old one.even when the hd signal thing comes in 2009, no one will escape the ears because the converter boxes need antennas too
