  1. Blue Ray has just made HD all but obsolete. Starting in April Warner Brothers will no longer be making HD, just Blue Ray discs. All but 2 of the big production companies have signed on to Blue Ray.

  2. Currently, the HD DVD market has been really declining. While a lot of people still support DVD's, blu-ray is becoming more of the future. Th differences are just file formats and the quality of the disks. And no an HD player cannot play a blu-ray disk or vice versa.

  3. HD and Blu-Ray are basically high definition DVDs but both follow different format. HD DVD player can not play Blu-ray disc and Blu-ray player cant play HD DVDs. There are some players that are designed to play both but its pretty expensive.

  4. blu ray has just about won the war... go with blu ray.

the diff is just different formats.

  6. blue ray is by far better, altho 2 receive the full quality of blue ray a hd tv is required, unfortunately u cannot play blue ray on hd or the other way round, the difference is the size of cappacy which can hold more data, i.e picture quality, a standard hd disc is supposed to be able to fit 4 standard dvds on, whereas a blue ray suppose 2 have the ability 2 store 10-12 so i hear, giving much more picture pixel quality, my theory may be wrong,

  7. hd cant play a blu ray disc. blu ray is for Playstation 3 and hd is for tv hope that helps

  8. i cant tell any difference between standard

  9. yes there is. the sizes are different. blue ray is a tenny bit better quality, but far more expensive. no, an hd player cannot play a blue ray disk. i would recomend hd because it is a much better deal for the system and the disks

  10. I think blue ray is better than HD. It has more capacity and the picture quality is better. HD players can not play blue ray discs and vice versa. I'd recommend blue ray if you're having a hard time choosing between those two.

  11. Blue Ray is much higher definition and it really is a big difference from high definition. But don't bother buying it unless you have a good HD TV.
