HD channels on a non-HDTV?

Are they worth getting? Do they look any different than the non HD channels?

  1. It won't work at all, the HD image is broadcast at 720p or 1080i, without an HDTV you will just get a blank screen.  Your TV is at 480i/p and cannot process the HD image.


  2. If you're talking about over the air with an antenna, the picture with the set-top converter is much better than the analog picture.  There is no snow, etc.  Over the air pictures with analog cable quality.

    If you are talking cable, HD channels are meant for HD TVs.  If there is a way to view them on an analog set, the picture will be the same quality.
