HD footage from DVR to computer?

I'm trying to get some HD footage from my DVR to my computer.

I was looking at some video capture cards but none have an input for HDMI. Is an HDMI port what I would need to do this?

  1. There are no video capture cards with HD inputs (HDMI, DVI, Component, VGA).

    This is just one of many things you can't do becauseof DRM restrictions.
