HD problems?

ok i bought a converter box for my tv cuz i have a tv that uses an antenna, i plug it in and its ready to go and i make sure that it has every channel and it does except for channel 5 and i love channel five it has the bacherlorette bachelor the mole and so much more i am so mad there is no channel five is it suppose to be not there on purpose or was it an accident and the type i bought was insigna could anyone tell me what is the problem or that is not suppose to be there on purpose

You may not be in a good area to receive Channel 5 over the air from their digital transmitter OR Ch. 5 isn't broadcasting digital.

Stations aren't required to cut over to digital until Feb 17, 2009. It's possible that Ch.5 hasn't done it  yet.  You don't say where you live or what station ch.5 is, but you can usually find out from their website if they are broadcasting digital yet. Calling the station would help to.

If you disconnect your converter box, do you see channel five's analog signal?  If so, that might be the evidence that there isn't a ch. 5 digital signal to receive.
