Question:

HD set-top receiver? (Cox Cable)?

I'm going to be upgrading to an HD TV here very soon. I've looked online at Cox Cable (my local provider) and they said I need "a special set-top receiver". What do I need? I would think this would be something they provide but don't see it anywhere. What exactly do I need to get HD tv, and how much will it cost me?

  1. Typically they provide the box for a small rental fee to you.  You can get the one with DVR built in so that you can record shows.  I have one on each TV in the house.

The boxes they provide enable the to provide security, video-on-demand, DVR services, and my guess is that it sends statistics back to them as well.
