Question:

HDD Camcorder to Windows Movie Maker?

I have a Sony HDD camcorder (HDR-SR11), and I am trying to get video off it and into Windows Movie Maker to edit the video. I connected the camcorder to my computer using a USB cord. My computer recognizes the camcorder (as removable drive G:), but WMM does not recognize the camcorder, and I cannot import any of the video into WMM. They are .cpi files. How do I get video onto my computer to edit? Thanks.

  1. I have the same camcorder and it wont work on Windows movie Maker. You must get a program Like Adobe Premire Elements. It dosnt work on WMM because it cant reconize AVCHD. Thats the format higher end Hd models use. AVCHD is a huge file too. This is because its HD and Avchd gives you the best quality. Hope I Helped.
