HDD & DVD PLAYER/RECORDER / time date

AFTER SETTING TIME / DATE ect and preset no problem (24 hr)

after turning the recorder off at night time at wall plug, it will not hold it's time/date have to reset when turning back on

is this normal ?

or will i have to leave it on standby all the time ?
